Since antiquity, education has been understood as the cultivation of the whole human being rather than the mere transfer of knowledge. Aristotle described it as “the creation of a sound mind in a sound body,” while the Indian tradition conveys the same through shiksha (discipline) and vidya (knowledge). At Jibreel International School, we see this harmony reflected most profoundly in the Qur’anic paradigm, beginning with the first revelation: “Read in the name of your Lord” (Surah al-‘Alaq, 96:1). This guiding principle elevates learning to a sacred trust, joining intellectual pursuit with moral and spiritual consciousness.
Founded in 2008 as the first English-medium school in Bengal with spiritual learning, Jibreel International School has grown into a vibrant institution with five campuses across Kolkata, inspiring young minds with both faith and technology. Over the past seventeen years, our perseverance and dedication have established us as a school of repute—anchored in values, enriched by modern pedagogy, and recognized for both academic excellence and holistic student development.
At the heart of our vision lie four major focus areas that shape our mission. We strive for excellence in academics, guiding every child with a rigorous and modern curriculum that prepares them for higher education and professional success. We emphasize the blending of spirituality and morality with knowledge, nurturing the inner self alongside intellectual growth through our Scripture Studies, Moral Education curriculum, and the Hifz Programme, which continues to achieve remarkable results. We give importance to beyond-classroom activities, offering opportunities through Science, Mathematics, Literature, cultural events, and enrichment programmes that allow students to discover their talents and passions. Finally, we attach great value to sports and fitness, providing structured coaching in cricket, football, roller skating, and badminton, so that our students grow into disciplined, resilient, and healthy individuals.
Aligned with the National Education Policy 2020 and the National Curriculum Framework 2023, our pedagogy is increasingly activity-based and experiential, fostering hands-on learning and critical thinking at every stage. With nine successful CISCE batches to date, our alumni are now pursuing higher studies in esteemed institutions across India and abroad, carrying forward the values and skills instilled in them at Jibreel.
Education today is in transition, moving from traditional classrooms to blended and technology-driven models. It is my privilege, along with my dedicated team, to guide our students through this change. At Jibreel International School, we see this not as a challenge but as an opportunity—to cultivate adaptable, innovative learners who remain deeply grounded in ethics, faith, and spirituality.
